Smalley Farms is a family owned farm corporation located in Wilson County, Kansas which is in the Southeast corner of the state.  The primary function is a cow/calf operation of approximately 100 beef cows, with most being Black Angus or Black Angus cross cows and Gelvich bulls.  The livestock is maintained on approximately 560 acres of owned and leased pasture land.  The day to day operations are managed by Connie M. Smalley with the assistance of Michael Smalley.  The cow/calf operation is managed to produce both Spring and Fall calves of approximately equal number.  Most of the herd stock is from cattle raised on the property and in most cases, replacement cows are obtained by retaining heifers raised .  The herd bulls are rotated between the two groups of cows in order to maintain good genetics.  The herd bulls are of Gelvich breed and purchased from a local breeder who maintains an outstanding reputation for Gelvich genetics.

At present, our web site is still under construction. We are making an effort to present you with additional information concerning the farming operation and the family members involved as soon as possible.  The emphasis of our site is on the history of the Smalley family and the farming operation. If this topic is of interest to you. Check this site later, please.  In the meantime you can contact us at:  msmalley@smalleyfarms.com.
